Greetings! From the Into Action Consulting, Inc. Team.
Per the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), those who suffer from mental illness may attempt to self-medicate their symptoms via drug use. When these individuals abuse drugs, they may feel less anxiety, depression, or neuroses, albeit temporarily. When the individual is not high, the symptoms of their mental health issue return – oftentimes stronger than they were before.
The need for both a mental health facility and an addiction treatment facility is greater than ever!
Into Action Consulting will handle the applications from start to finish – including customizing the policies and procedures to match your organization’s needs and philosophy. A consultant will physically visit the proposed facility for a walk-thru as well as provide training.
Getting the right help at the right time.
To provide appropriate treatment for co-occurring disorders, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends an integrated treatment approach. Integrated treatment is a means of coordinating substance-abuse and mental health interventions, rather than treating each disorder separately and without consideration for the other.
An Epidemic.
Nearly one-third of college students admitted to treatment for addictions have mental health issues. SAMHSA is a great resource for information.
One last thing.
